How focussed are you really? What if you were to create a board in your office that would keep you continually focussed?
I came across a simple strategy by Michael Losier about twelve months ago and it has had a huge impact on the business. Michael calls it the ‘Vibrational Business Plan’. I call it the ‘Three Questions Approach‘. It is also a great strategy to share with teams and at the end of each quarter, get them to review the board. All you need is a board and post it notes and add to the board the three questions.
Top of the Board: Add First Question
WHAT I KNOW FOR SURE
Add 3-6 post it notes on what you know for sure is going to happen in the business the next quarter.
Middle of the Board: Add Second Question
WHAT I AM GIVING ATTENTION TO
Add 3-6 post it notes with you and your teams focus for next quarter
Bottom of the Board: Add Third Question
ROOM FOR MORE
Add all the new ideas, propositions and invitations to this part of the board.
Then keep your focus on the second question, what I am or we are giving attention to.
